Description

Hardware Applications Engineer

EMS international are currently recruiting a specialist Hardware Applications engineer in the Greater Detroit Metro area. Our client is a developer and manufacturer of lithium-ion batteries and battery management systems for the automotive market.

We are looking to source an application engineer who is responsible for supporting customers in the development of DC/DC converters for High Voltage and/or Low Voltage battery pack assemblies.

Responsibilities include: compiling customer technical requirements; translation into internal engineering requirements; driving those requirements into the design organization (internal and external).

Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary engineering interface to both internal and external customers.
  • Collect customer requirements, evaluate compliance, and note areas of non-conformance and/or opportunities for requirements modification
  • Develop DC/DC converter hardware performance specifications
  • Create battery pack Interface and Control Documents
  • Release battery pack engineering documents, drawings, etc. into corporate system
  • Create and manage pack DVP&R
  • Support manufacturing plant in resolving build issues related to pack design
  • Support customer integration efforts through appropriate means, such as conference calls, data log analysis, and travel to customer sites
  • Coordinate activities of engineering teams to resolve issues
  • Develop and maintain realistic project milestones and deliverables using appropriate tools
  • Track and report project status
  • Proactively manage changes in project scope
  • Ensure team follows established development processes
  • Contribute to process improvement activities
  • Follow and improve upon best practices and tools for project execution and management
