Description

EMS international are currently recruiting a Battery Management Systems engineer to be based in the Greater Detroit area, Michigan.

Our client is a developer and manufacturer of lithium-ion batteries and battery management systems for the automotive market. Our client is one of the technological leaders in this sector, partnering with major OEMs like Daimler, BMW, Volkswagen Group, FCA and General Motors on next generation Lithium Ion battery systems.

We are looking to source a Battery Systems engineer with experience of working closely with major automotive OEMs. Translating customer/OEM requirements into system schematics and requirements specifications; and then driving these requirements into the company’s design teams, while following programs from inception through the validation and customer installation/integration stages.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Act as the primary BMS interface to both internal and external customers.
  • Collect customer requirements, evaluate compliance, and note areas of non-conformance and/or opportunities for requirement modification based on experience
  • Develop BMS System Specifications according to agreed-upon customer requirements
  • Create Electrical Interface and Control Documents
  • Create and manage BMS System DVP&R
  • Support customer system integration efforts through leading/driving appropriate means such as conference calls, data log analysis, and travel to customer sites
  • Coordinate activities of electrical hardware and software teams to resolve BMS issues

Candidate Experience Requirements

  • Degree level education and industry gained automotive electrical system experience
  • Solid working knowledge of CAN and/or LIN Networking
  • Experience working with Electric Vehicles and high voltage systems.
